Here at ACP we strive to be forthright and honest with our affiliates. ACP released an in-depth guide for our publishers, so that they can maximize profits. Educating affiliates with regard to increasing their earnings is the basis of ACP. Previously, when we worked as affiliates and running services on other networks, we didn’t receive such helpful support from anyone. The networks would simply throw the information to us, and we would make whatever we could. Even today, ACP is the only network that provides our affiliates with support and provides our affiliates with valuable insights into the direction that will yield the most profits. Our only compensation is that affiliates experience success. We can only call ourselves successful if our publishers are successful. With these ends in mind, enjoy the guide which will permit you to touch triple digit ROI’s with dating.
Do you think you are doing justice to dating? Few leads a day certainly don’t mean that. What you can do with dating is grab it with both hands and get rich. Dating is very profitable with the average ROIs touching 100 to 200% on optimized social network, making it one of the largest verticals in the industry. If you believe that experience in the industry is must for making profits out of these ads, then you are largely mistaken. We have recorded a multiplicity of affiliates who began marketing only this year and have reached up to $500 profit days. If you are not benefiting from dating, there is every possibility that you are not doing it properly. Chances are that you are trying either too hard or you are being lazy.
Why do I say “trying too hard”? That is because I have seen affiliates’ ad copies and sometimes they put extra information and details and make it way too complicated. You should keep in mind that you are not writing literature here, you are just trying to catch people’s attention. Focus on that and don’t overdo things and work yourself out of the game.
Did you know that 60% of the people who read ads only read headlines? In addition, if there is not an attractive image the number cannot possibly touch 60%. This may seem like common sense for some of you, but even now I see too many badly constructed ads to ignore it.
Here are simple steps of making an attractive ad:
Step 1: The image. If you are testing on Facebook, it is very convenient to test large volumes in little time. You can test different ad copies and their variations along with multiple headlines. However, if you are on POF, I would advise you not to test more than 5 to 10 images at once. Two headline variations would suffice as there is not much volume available, if you are not engaging an awfully broad targeting. Getting good images, images that receive good CTR is crucial or you won’t get cost effective clicks which will earn you profits. It is not necessarily that the offer is bad if you are not getting profits out of it. There is every chance that you don’t have a high enough CTR. I say this because we have affiliates who are absolutely rocking all the top deals we have recommended. If they can do it, so can you.
Images for Targeting Males: You can try different shots of face, body, and even some cleavage. This would depend entirely on your targeted demographics. Use your imagination and to get images which would attract males. Important note: use your judgment wisely here; do not become too explicit visually, as it would hurt the advertiser in the long run.
Images for Targeting Females: Use some attractive face shots, body shots, and shirtless pictures of guys you believe ladies would go “gaga” for. If you are targeting older demographics then don’t use teenagers’ pictures. Also, pictures of couples do not work out well most of the time.
Step 2: The headline. Once you have developed an image which will catch the attention of the targeted audience, the next step is headline. Ideally, a headline should show personal interest and care from you as well as some emotions. Having funny headlines do not always work. The kinds of headlines that attract people are the ones they can relate to in some way. Humor is good but not as good as emotional and personal statements. You can use their interests (for example, body type, interests, favorite food and favorite team etc. of the person they are looking for). Human psychology is very simple; do not make it hard for yourself and for your audience. Just do what appeals to their intellect, without making it any complicated. The headline should not be very long.
Step 3: The ad copy. The only thing which stands between a click and you is the ad, which is not very difficult if the ad is not shockingly poor. The crucial thing about the ad is that it runs straight from the headline. If that is not the case, the clickers thought might get disturbed, that he was expecting something else and saw something else. The ad should be tidy and attractive. It should contain the very idea which caught the user’s attention when he saw the headline. You must round it off with an encouragement to an action (tell them that they need to “click here” to get what they want). Telling them that the registration is free and such stuff is always helpful as they would often need reassurance. Do not make it too vibrant. Do not use too many exclamations and caps. It should look attractive as well as sophisticated, don’t make it look as if a child has written it.
Targeting: Targeting POF and Facebook are two different things. It is better that we discuss the targeting, because you can end up making errors. Facebook: With Facebook targeting, you can afford to get broad campaigns, the margins are mostly slender but the volume is massive. In addition to that, you can build numerous smaller niche campaigns which touch particular interests of people such as sports, dancing, cooking etc. Your creativity and time commitment will make the difference here. Shaping out the CPC overtime is often the biggest challenge with Facebook. The old rule applies: to make money you have to lose some money. Facebook ads need time to carve out. Facebook will not make you eminent instantly, however once they notice that people like your ads, they will give you better placement and lower costs. Then your time starts, put in your hard work and be patient. Keep in mind that if you are bidding CPC, your CTR needs to be good. If your CTR is not up to the mark and Facebook doesn’t get the money they expected, (which is their minimum CPM benchmark) they will cut you off and if that happens you’ll have to start from scratch again.
POF: POF have a very advanced targeting system, cash in on it and make your own niche. Promoting from a niche approach and sending users afterwards to broad offer works really well. You can use a lander if you wish. With a targeted headline, your CTRs will be much better and ultimately the clicks would cost you less and your profits will rise. The best part is that alternatively you can target broad on POF, if you are troubled with spending enormous amounts of time making individually targeted campaigns. Although, the former is a better option and you should invest your valuable time in this. When targeting broad, you should still try to make your ad standout from the thousands of other ads. Decrease your bid prices if you want to go broad, that will help you. In addition to this, you can experiment with session depth and login count – the settings can make a remarkable difference of 200% to your ROI.
Over 40 female offers convert much better than males. This will benefit you in two ways: 1) Female targeting will bring you higher CR (although you will have to pay a premium due to the expensive traffic). 2) You can put in some extra effort and apply the techniques to male demographics and make them convert. People normally write them off, but you can find a treasure full of gold hidden in there.
Bidding: When it comes to bidding, there is no “sweet spot” or definite magical number which will work no matter what. Any such conception that standard bidding will work every time is a false one. You’ll have to bid differently on different campaigns, if you want to get rich. Facebook: When you are bidding CPC on Facebook, the conventional and usually acknowledged practice is to bid high initially and then bid low. You big high in the beginning to build a useful relationship with Facebook’s dynamics, once the impression of your ad becomes stable, you can slowly but very carefully start to bring the bid down – sometimes this can bring the impression to a standstill, so be careful. Another way of boosting up your impressions is to play with your daily spending cap. Even if your account has only $50 a day limit, you can increase the daily spend cap on individual campaigns, this will enable you to acquire impressions faster. DO not set it unrealistically high; If you do you will only lose your money faster instead of making it. Keep this important note in mind: not all Facebook traffic is created as equals. Observe your referrers to see if the best converting traffic is coming from Facebook or Apps.Facebook. Adjust your bids accordingly to attract the traffic which will be most suitable for you. POF: POF is target dependent. In fact I can’t even give you a rough estimate and figures as campaigns with my bids on them are so diverse. With POF, it all depends on particular perspectives and their conversion abilities. The targeting and demo sizes etc. determine your prices – and they can vary considerably.
Stay Focused! Marketing isn’t about secret ingredients, techniques, knowledge and facts or figures. It all comes down to the individual’s hunger to get things done and make them work. If you are motivated enough, you will get through eventually, no matter what. It can be very discouraging when a new campaign’s ROI turns negative, many people succumb to this as it is a natural feeling, but you have to fight it out. When I test new campaigns, I usually run negative on the preliminary test, even with all the experience I have of what works and what doesn’t. There is no end to learning in this world. I can play by the books and safely use creative and ad copies which I know will work, but if I don’t experiment, test, and learn how will I get to the next step. Recently, I have tested four different angles. One of them concluded as -200% even after proper optimization. Two were more or less break even (which is never satisfactory) but the fourth has been between 100 – 200% ROI, for about a week now. This shows that all your hard work eventually pays off. Becoming nervous or discouraged is normal after a slight failure for an affiliate, but don’t let it get to you. Play your fears down and I hope that this has motivated you to experiment with courage. I hope that you found this guide useful. As always, please feel free to contact your account manager if you need any strategies, tips or guidelines. The purpose of these guides is that you’ll learn from them, enjoy then and will refer our network a publisher – that is the solitary of our growth.
